The flow model of coaching revolves around enhancing self-awareness and empowering clients to adopt a growth-oriented mindset. There are six essential stages in this process: 

  1. Assessment: Help clients identify their strengths, interests, and activities that have the potential to lead to flow experiences
  2. Goal setting: Assist clients in setting specific and challenging goals that align with their skills and interests
  3. Action planning: Collaborate on strategies and action plans to increase the frequency of flow in various aspects of life
  4. Implementation: Support clients in honing the skills and abilities required to engage in their chosen flow activities
  5. Overcoming obstacles: Work with clients to address challenges or psychological barriers that might hinder their ability to enter a flow state
  6. Integration and sustainability: Equip clients with the tools they need to continue experiencing flow and achieve their goals independently

Through purposeful practice, iterative improvement, and confidence building, this stage will help your client enter flow more consistently. 

5. Overcoming Obstacles

This phase of the flow coaching model focuses on helping clients identify and address challenges hindering their progress toward hacking flow. Overcoming the root causes of these obstacles empowers clients to navigate difficulties and continue their journey toward optimal performance and engagement.

Through this process, you help your client develop the resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills necessary to reach the next level of their flow journey. This requires ongoing support and accountability through regular coaching sessions to discuss progress, setbacks, and possible adjustments.
